Lesson

Trying to teach my 3 year old kid that it is OK to get out of bed at night instead of sitting in there yelling for her mommy or daddy. Her mom made this cool jar to collect marbles every time she gets out of bed and since it started, she has only gotten 2. Since I was in the kids' room last night, I took a marble for myself since I got out on my own without yelling for any help. Not sure she got the lesson, but at least I tried. 

Last minute plan.

Oi. I was going to just hang out in the tree in the parent's room and got stuck on this ball on the way up. Damn felt body.

Bird's Eye View

Riding a dinosaur. This was an awesome idea. Good thing I chose the one that stays inflated because from up here I saw two others from the heard that were loosing air. That would have been interesting.

Next time remind me to pack a scarf and possibly rethink this idea. At least this spot was comfy. Last year, I got stuck eating queso on the lazy susan in the fridge and I almost hurled twice.

My kids' grandparents came in to town today and since the cats and dog get shut out of their room when they visit, I thought this would be a great place to hang out. It was double the excitement. The kids came in to see their grandparents early in the morning and found me there as well. It was awesome!

Sometimes it's just nice to hang out with the other famous people so I decided to check in with my peeps and catch up.

Now why didn't I think of this spot in the first place?

This house doesn't have a fireplace, so they got creative with the stockings. I am going to have to remind Santa that he needs his special key. Maybe I'll bring it with me one day because you know that the 3 year old is going to start asking about it. She's a smart one that kid!

Trying to blend in

My kid's mom loves to display all of her art work from school so I thought I might try and blend in and make it harder for them to find me. No such luck. The littlest one found me immediately and started furiously pointing at me until his big sister came along to join in.

At least I look quite festive in this spot. 

Finally got the blood back where it belongs.

This time I picked another comfy spot and spent the day listening to the kids laugh and giggle and try to kill themselves from my birds eye view.

I get that being up high is a good thing to deter the 1 year old from nomming on my head but sometimes I really need to reconsider my decisions before I get stuck in them.

Hey, at least I didn't get stuck to the fan. At a meeting with Santa this week, one of my other elf friends told me of his harrowing night being attached to a spinning fan. Poor guy. He made the trek back to the North Pole with an airsick bag in his lap.

It's not the size that counts

My kids' mom has this tiny tree above her desk. She put it there the day after she took down the Halloween decorations. Some might think she is a little crazy, but I kinda like her spirit. It's Christmasy.  Her spirit that is... well and the tree of course. Took the kids a while to find me this morning.

I am not responsible

My kids' parents got a little toasted tonight getting some Christmas things done and before I knew it the kid's dad had trapped me in this Lego throne, so to speak, and stuck me on the kitchen TV. Pretty easy place to find me though and I didn't get a leg cramp (helicopter) or a pine needle up my ass (see previous post) so I guess I can't really complain.

Well this damn thing is actually a crappy little helicopter that I barely fit into and I'd have killed myself if I tried to fly off this book shelf, but it kept me up high and with a good view of the kids.

Literally. No joke. This is where I thought about hanging out for the day. What the hell was I thinking?

Star Light Start Bright

The little one in this house is kinda grabby, so I like to choose places out of his reach. This tree is in their playroom so not only did I keep out of reach of his grubby hands, but I got to keep an eye on them both all day.

"H"anging around again

I put the "H" in hanging around. At least this time I chose to hang the right way up. Because the other day all the blood rushed to my head and I had such a headache the next day. It was a pretty easy find too since the kids pass this on the way to breakfast.

Nom Nom

I got a little hungry hanging upside-down yesterday so I found the family candy stash and chowed down. I apparently lost track of time because before I knew it, the kids were awake and I was stuck there for the rest of the day. Not bad, but I got a little sticky.

It was a long and relaxing vacation...

...but I am back and it seems that my kid's little brother has grown up and loves finding me in the morning as well so now I have to be super creative and remember to stay high up because that kid seems like he might just nom nom on my head if he gets his hands on me.

The family decorated the kitchen this year, so it was easy to surprise the kids at breakfast by just hanging out above them taunting them with a candy cane.
